CALL OF DUTY INFINITE WARFARE: ZOMBIES DLC 3 AND 4 TESTING

IW Zombies: Welcome

Gameplay and Progression Testing

  • Tested and measured player progression throughout the product's development, identifying any key blockers players would experience

    • Any usability/progression blockers were ordered in severity for developer convenience, according to existing department heuristics

  • Helped to calibrate the difficulty of the boss fight using data driven suggestions and qualitative player feedback

  • Researched the navigability of the overall  playable space, making sure players did not run into frustration or confusion when trying to locate key parts of the map

Radioactive Things... In Space?

Infinite Warfare's final two Zombie DLC's (Attack of the Radioactive Thing/The Beast from Beyond), were huge departures from the game's single player theme and tone. These two game modes transitioned from a gritty, futuristic, wartime shooter to both wacky Hollywood in the 80's and a zombie infested space station.

Testing player reaction to these new and radical themes was tough, and surveys had to be carefully written to capture the proper data not influenced by prior gameplay. Issues we looked at were: theme comprehension, narrative understanding, and most importantly; can a demographic primarily under 30 understand a theme from the 80's?
